Journey Church Current Plan

A letter from Pastor Jay

Hi Journey Church-

This past week I met with our District Superintendent on Tuesday and our Journey Church Safety Committee (our church board & vision team) on Wednesday to discuss what it might look like to open our doors again at 5 Tinkham Ave. After both of these meetings I, along with the Safety Committee & District Superintendent, believe it would be premature to set a date at this time.

The guiding question for us around this issue is given city, state, and insurance guidelines and requirements, what is our most loving way forward? For now, we believe the answer to that question is for us to continue to meet through online means. The Safety Committee will continue to revisit this decision a couple times a month to discuss the latest guidelines and data available- along with any changes that need to be made to our plans. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to me by email at Jay@JourneyNH.org

I should also point out that as I was writing this email to you that Governor Sununu just released a three page document offering dozens of guidelines for churches to follow. The Safety Committee will be looking over and discussing this document at our meeting next week.

Even though the doors to our building will remain closed for now, the Church is not closed. We still have a mission to BE the Church, especially during times of fear and uncertainty. We can continue to look for ways to encourage one another, support one another, and care for one another- within our church family and beyond. As a church, we must continue to pray that our eyes, ears, minds, and hearts would be open to the ways God is at work around us and how we can join in.

I’m grateful to partner with all of you in ministry and will have more information in the days ahead.
